Our Process
Vision and expertise are instrumental in achieving your financial goals, but it’s the process that ultimately leads to results. At Schwartz Financial, we follow a rigorous and thorough client process to ensure that no element of your financial life is left to chance.
Initial Visit
Always FREE — no commitments!
Do we like each other?
It is a casual conversation to break the ice and make sure we are a good fit, no documents needed. We will mutually decide if my office is the best fit for your needs.
We will discuss where we go next and what is needed to move forward.
Discovery
Let’s get organized before we do anything else! We ask that you gather your documents and come back to the office for a 90 minute meeting.
Before the day of the meeting, we ask that you go online and spend a few minutes going through a risk profile so that we can make sure your current investment profile matches your risk profile.
Then, we will explore your goals and values, take the time to discuss all your current and future needs and priorities. We will finish up by reviewing our financial planning agreement together.
Analysis
Our “nerdy” stuff—number crunching and customizing of your new plan behind the scenes.
We usually check-in a few times during this process to get any missing details or to ask a few questions.
Implementation
The best part—you are ready to implement! We call it a “starting point” because nothing is ever carved in stone. Life happens, and we will be ready for the numerous curves life throws at you. Typically, we break this meeting up into two separate meetings. It is a whole heap of information and we want you to be able to learn, but not be overwhelmed.
First Meeting: Cash Flow, Debt Management (student loans, credit cards, personal loans), Net Worth, Emergency Funds and Life Planning for Your Goals.
Second Meeting: Investment Planning/Management, Insurance & Protection Planning, Retirement Planning/Outlook, Education Planning and Tax & Estate Planning.
Your plan will be organized and placed on your own “personal financial website” where it is updated and live each and every morning.
Monitoring
The monitoring phase of our client process is the longest in chronological terms, and it’s vitally important. We continually study your progress toward your objectives, making changes as warranted to keep you on track. As your accounts are updated for both you and us, we can keep track easily to make sure your asset allocations are within agreed parameters to work towards your goals. We communicate pro-actively and clearly with you so that you are fully informed as we work toward achieving your goals. Each week you will receive a “Weekly Market Commentary” as well as 4 quarterly economic updates and two tax letters each year.
